I've just finished the Little Red Box.
This is a little wooden box that I have painted with a red wash. The wash is subtle and as such you are able to see the grain of wood, which I always like, loving wood as I do.
I have decoupaged the inside with a pretty red and pink roses serviette. This is one of my favourite prints, it's not too girly that I feel ill with all the girliness but still girly enough that I don't feel like a boy.
On the lid I have added three red jewels, some gold pen detail, red lace detail and because I believe that feathers should always accompany lace, added two black feathers to either side of the lid.
The box is 21 cm long, 9cm wide and 7cm high. So is small and yet still big enough for you to store your jewellery, watches, make up or even tea bags, complimenting any tea tray. (Yes even we should serve tea on a tea tray, with cloth, sugar bowel, tea pot, cup and saucer and whatever other bits and pieces make up the correct way to drink tea.)
I had fun with this little red box and I am only selling it for R50 which means buying a nice Christmas gift for someone without using your entire Christmas present Budget.
